Deck building in the winter? So, it’s the holiday season, no one wants to think about their deck, existing or to be, right? No,no, no, now is the time to think about the deck you’ve been dreaming of, consider all the possibilities open to you and contact a quality deck builder(like me). Deck building and planning is often ignored in the rainy, winter months, but builders like me who specialize in deck design and deck building work year round to create the perfect outdoor space that you want, that will give you and your family the ability to be outside rain or shine and enjoy your world. Wintertime is when most people don’t move forward toward their deck project, so it’s easier to schedule to have your new deck built in a really timely fashion. Moving toward your new deck now, when the deck building season is a little slower, ensures having your new deck available for use when the first sunny days of spring arrive. Or, if you’re like me, allows use through the winter too(there is not an off season for grilling and BBQ’ing).
I’ve recently accepted being a part of Angie’s List’s new SnapFix program, and as a part of the process they asked what are the first questions I ask prospective clients when we meet. I responded as follows:1) How do you use your deck, or want to use your new deck? 2) Do you like the size and configuration of your existing deck? 3) Have you thought about the different decking materials that are available and considered their pros and cons for your lifestyle? 4) have you considered a roof over part of your deck to allow you to use your deck in more inclement times?
More important than being a Super Service Award winner from Angie’s List for the past three years is that I love decks. I love to help my clients envision the deck they really want and then create that deck for them.
